It's now official: Regulatory approval for CataCap's acquisition of e-Boks is in place and the deal is finalised. With this acquisition, the Danish private equity firm CataCap becomes the new owner of e-Boks, marking the beginning of a new chapter for e-Boks.
Together with CataCap, e-Boks continues to strengthen and develop secure digital solutions that make everyday life easier for citizens, businesses and authorities - in Denmark and internationally.
CataCap is a Danish-based private equity fund investing in mid-sized companies. We partner with companies with significant growth potential and innovative business models with long-term sustainability.
Our team draws on decades of operational expertise – both within industry, and as private equity partners. By merging the traditions of private equity with our systematic operational approach and human touch, we invest to unlock the full potential of the unique business models we identify.
We are an active and visible owner in the companies, we team up with, foster winning teams and catalyse growth to create value for people, businesses and investors, that endures beyond our time as owners.
With 5.3 million users, e-Boks is the preferred platform for Danes when it comes to reading and responding to digital mail and securely storing important documents. Since its establishment in 2001, e-Boks has played a crucial role in making Denmark one of the world’s most digital societies. By developing a secure communication platform for businesses, public authorities, and citizens, e-Boks has made it easier to benefit from digital transformation.
CataCap’s acquisition of e-Boks will not result in any changes to the daily operations of the platform for customers or users.
Regarding the acquisition, Jens Hahn-Petersen, co-founder and partner at CataCap, says:
"We are pleased that e-Boks is now becoming part of the CataCap family. We fully recognize the vital role e-Boks plays as a secure digital mailbox for the entire Danish population. Our goal is to further develop the platform, introduce additional functionalities, and enhance user-friendliness, thereby strengthening its position as Denmark’s preferred digital mailbox."
